I created Leon's Mahjong to be a modern tribute to the classic Mahjong solitaire games of the past, inspired by the 16-bit era of video gaming. With crafted pixel art made with passion and love, this game brings the timeless challenge of Mahjong to today's devices.
Leon's Mahjong is available for macOS and iOS. Click the links below to download the game:

When I was a kid, I was very lucky because my dad always managed to have a great computer at home. In 1987, the amazing computer we had was the Amiga 1000. My father and I used to play lots of videogames together, and one of our favorites was a mahjong solitaire game. Those were amazing times, happy times. Unfortunately, in 1999, my father passed away.
Many years have passed, and now I am a father myself. Last year, my son Leon traveled to Cologne and returned with a super old computer he found there. It was a Compaq notebook from around 1995, weighing about 100 kilos and running Windows 95. The only game it had was a version of Mahjong. I wondered how my son, a teenager with access to modern computers, tablets, and several video game consoles, could be interested in a Windows game from over 30 years ago. I later understood that besides liking retro stuff, he didn’t know Mahjong as a game and was fascinated by it, just as I was as a kid.
When I saw him playing with a serial mouse with a ball inside (because the archaic trackpad of the computer was like moving a brick with your finger), I said, “But this Mahjong is not good, the real deal is the Mahjong version for the Commodore Amiga, which I played with my dad in 1987. The pixel art it has, the shadows, and everything are much better than this Windows version!” Seeing my emotional attachment to that game, the Amiga, and the past, he said to me, “Why don’t you program it yourself? So it’s available on current computers…”
So I took his advice, and I began coding a mahjong game in Unity. I decided to name it: "Leon's Mahjong". It has been an incredibly enjoyable experience, bringing back memories of a time when computing was simpler, with fewer colors, noticeable pixels, and software versions that lasted for years. I hope you enjoy playing the game as much as I enjoyed creating it.
